Key takeaways

Impleo breast augmentation case: childbirth and weight loss left her upper chest hollow, and a previous fat transfer breast augmentation fell short of her expectations. After an assessment with Dr. Kuo-Chun Liao, she chose Impleo implants through an armpit incision. Bruising and swelling faded in about three days, she fully recovered in about two weeks to a month, and her upper chest looks fuller.

"I'm Duo-Duo, I'm 25, and I'm self-employed. I've had a child and my upper chest lost its fullness, so this time I wanted to fill out my upper chest and make it look fuller and rounder. I'd previously had fat transfer to the breasts using fat from my thighs, but I wasn't very happy with the result, so this time I went straight to consulting about implants..."

A C cup with a hollow upper chest still looks flat in clothes

I used to be a C cup with a full upper chest, but after having my child, the volume moved from the upper to the lower part of my breasts, and since I'd also lost weight, they shrank even more. I tried breast enhancement pills too, but the growth still went to the lower part, hahaha. In clothes I looked like I had no breasts at all. A hollow upper chest also made me feel insecure in front of my partner, because he's bound to see you the moment you take your clothes off, and every woman wants to show her partner her most perfect side.

I was strongly against implants, but they feel just like the real thing

I never imagined I'd have breast augmentation. When I saw people sharing their experiences, I'd wonder why anyone would do it; I thought implants looked super fake and "bowl-shaped," and that many men are put off by women who've had them. But in the end I decided to do it, hahaha. I kept seeing people online who were clearly very slim yet had full breasts and looked great in clothes. It didn't make sense to me; it seemed like they'd had augmentation, but how could it look so natural? Once I actually went for a consultation, I found that technology has come so far that implants are almost like the real thing. I'm a pretty impulsive person; I only thought about it for a month before going in for a consultation, and set the surgery date right after. I know many people hesitate for a long time, but my motto is "don't overthink becoming more beautiful."

What I looked for in an implant: price, fullness and softness, and Impleo ticked every box

Feeling the implants was a real surprise. I'd expected them to be hard, but they were very soft, and the many case photos I looked at all looked natural. At the clinic I felt almost every implant, and in the end my favorites were Mentor Xtra (Queen Wave) and Impleo. They felt about the same in softness and fullness, but I chose Impleo because the price was more attractive!

My top three considerations were, first and foremost, price, then how full the implant is, and finally softness. I know Mentor Classic (smooth) is the cheapest of all the implants, but when I felt it, I didn't think it was very full, and Impleo is softer. I didn't consider the textured ones; I don't like that rough feel, and I worried they'd feel hard after surgery.

I chose an armpit incision, because the doctor said that as long as you take good care of the scar, it's hardly visible once it fades. With an inframammary incision, I worried the weight of the implant pressing on it would make it heal less well, and with a nipple incision I was afraid it would hurt and affect sensitivity.

Three days of bruising and swelling, and the clinic's nurses were wonderful

On the day of surgery I was pretty calm at first and only got nervous after entering the operating room, because I'm really scared of needles. But the nurses kept chatting with me and encouraging me, and I was asleep in under ten seconds. The swelling lasted about three days. I think that was because of the drains; having drains made the incisions a bit uncomfortable, but my breasts didn't hurt, and the bruising and swelling were gone in about three days. Full recovery took about two weeks to a month, and the clinic kept checking on me, changing my dressings, giving me IV drips and so on. As for softness, right after surgery it felt like there was something ball-like inside, but now it's blended well with the tissue. I'd read online that right after surgery they'd feel rock-hard like engorged breasts during nursing, but I didn't find that; they were already a bit soft right after surgery.

I chose NAISS CLINIC because the nurses and front desk staff are very gentle and the clinic is very clean. I'd consulted at another clinic, but it was older, the nurses were older too, and it felt a bit careless, not as attentive or gentle. I've had other aesthetic procedures before, and I think each clinic has its own strengths, so you don't have to do everything at the same clinic. After my consultation, I found Dr. Liao was great. He answered every question I asked in detail, seems like a very positive person, and his cases all look beautiful, so I finally decided to have my surgery at NAISS CLINIC

Cleavage is no longer a struggle, and everyone's envious

I'm now two and a half months post-op, and I give it 9 out of 10. I took off one point because bras are a bit hard to buy, haha. I'm slim, so my band size is small, but my cup size is big, which makes bras harder to find. The only small inconvenience in daily life is that less stretchy tops get stuck at the chest; otherwise the sizes fit just right. After my augmentation many female friends looked at me with envy. At first they asked why I'd do it since my breasts weren't small, and now they're all envious. I think the most convenient thing after surgery is not needing a bra: I can just put on nipple covers and go out, and I don't have to think about pushing up cleavage; it just forms naturally

My husband was with me through the consultation, surgery and recovery; choose a size that suits you

What surprised me was how supportive my husband was of my decision. He came with me to every consultation and even felt the implants with me, and we decided on the material and size together. After all, he's the one who'll be touching them too. We figured that if I was doing it, I might as well go fuller with a bigger volume, so I chose the largest size within the doctor's recommended range. When I later asked my husband why he supported me, he said that if augmentation would boost my confidence, then I should have it; he'd seen how much I struggled with clothes and bra pads.

I'd suggest that anyone considering breast augmentation choose a size that suits their height, weight and body shape, and not just chase bigger. If you love that very full Western look, that's fine, but if you mainly want clothes to look good, I think you should choose a size that fits your figure.
