Her eyes recovered in about a week, her breasts and arms in about one to two months, and she wore a compression garment and a post-op bra for one month each.

"I'm Maggie, I'm 42, and I work in real estate. This time I had three procedures: Mesmo breast augmentation, lower eyelid (eye bag) surgery and arm liposuction. I'd spent over NT$100,000 on weight training and yoga coaching and tried some muscle-building and fat-reduction treatments, but none of them made much difference. In the end, what made me decide on surgery was a single sentence from a consultant..."
I spent a fortune on exercise and yoga, but the results were disappointing
By 40, as collagen gradually declined, sagging and looseness started showing up on my body. Add childbirth and my own constitution (my flesh is naturally soft), and I looked droopier than most people. My under-eye bags became more and more obvious, my arms developed the usual "bat wings," and my breasts had seriously shrunk and sagged. I tried many things, including gym workouts, weight training, yoga and Pilates, hoping to look better in my clothes. I even spent a fortune on two to three years of personal training, and tried treatments like Emsculpt and Embody for muscle building and fat reduction. Only the aesthetic treatments helped somewhat, but the effect lasted about six months before things went back. None of the exercise showed on my arms or breasts, and working out does nothing to lift sagging breasts, so I finally decided on surgery
One sentence from a consultant made me decide on surgery...
I actually only thought about the decision for an hour. At first I came to consult about abdominal liposuction, just to hear what they had to say. As I talked it through with the consultant, I realized I cared about many other areas too. Then the consultant said to me, "If you don't do it now at 40, when will you do it? When will you let yourself become beautiful?" That sentence is what made me decide. It may just have been a sales technique, but it rang true to me. For a woman already at 40, if you don't do things now, how long will you put them off? If you only have surgery at 50, how beautiful can you be between 50 and 60?
On Dr. Yen-Chun Yu's professional advice, I chose teardrop-shaped Mesmo implants
My only requirement for an implant was "no massage needed," because to me all the implants felt about the same. Dr. Yen-Chun Yu is gentle, friendly and very professional, and I chose Mesmo on his recommendation. He explained that since my sagging was from childbirth, Mesmo's teardrop-shaped models are well suited to mothers after pregnancy, and Mesmo's textured surface makes it less likely to shift, so no massage is needed. I originally wanted abdominal and arm liposuction, eye bag surgery and breast augmentation all at once, but after the consultation, he advised splitting it into two surgeries and explained why very professionally, so I chose to do all the upper-body procedures first
An easy recovery, and more freedom in what I wear
Recovery was actually easier than I expected. The surgery was under general anesthesia, so I hardly felt any pain when I woke up. My arms felt a bit tight, and my breasts and eyes didn't feel like much. After surgery there was basically just bruising and slight swelling. My eyes fully recovered in about a week, and my arms and breasts took about one to two months, though after about a month they were already more than 50% recovered. I only wore my compression garment and post-op bra for one month
After surgery I took extra vitamins A and E as the doctor instructed. I'm now four months post-op, and I'm very happy with the results. I love wearing sleeveless tops more than ever and feel bolder about it. I also share things like how my breasts feel with friends. I'd assumed people weren't very open to breast augmentation, but after mine, friends who felt them said they were very natural, and many admitted they'd actually thought about it too.
At 40, I chose to enter the second half of life looking beautiful
I'm so grateful the consultant said, "If you don't do it now, when will you start becoming beautiful?" It sounds simple, but it woke me up: I should make a change for myself after 40. I'm grateful to the me of that day for making this decision. If you start at 40, you might reach an 8 or 9 out of 10, but if you wait until 50, you might only get to 6.5 or 7, especially for areas like under-eye bags, breast shape and arms. Over the past few years I've done a lot of homework on fitness, and I think men and women are quite different when it comes to working out. It's harder for women to sculpt a single area, and we also feel our chest muscles differently. So this time I'm not compromising because of my age or waiting for some day to become beautiful. I'm choosing to blossom for myself right now
