Mesmo Breast Augmentation Story: Fixing a Wide-Set Pigeon Chest

Key takeaways

Mesmo breast augmentation case: a congenital pigeon chest made her C-cup breasts look wide-set. After an assessment with Dr. Po-Ying Lee, the implants were placed in a dual-plane (partly under the fascia, partly under the muscle) position through an inframammary incision. Pain lasted about four days, she was back at work on day five, and she avoided side sleeping for the first month. Three months after surgery she went from a C to an F cup, and the wide-set look improved.

"I'm Yi-Lin, I'm 31, and I work as an event planner. My breasts were actually a C cup, but I was born with a pigeon chest, so my breasts were wide-set and pointed outward. It didn't look great, which made dressing quite frustrating, and over time I started wondering whether breast augmentation could solve these problems..."

As I got older I didn't want to wear bras, so I chose breast augmentation to improve my shape

I started thinking about breast augmentation about five years ago. Before that I figured that since I was a C cup, I probably didn't need it. But as I got a bit older, I started preferring comfortable clothes and didn't like wearing bras. Because of my pigeon chest, though, my breasts were wide-set and pointed outward, which didn't look great and made dressing frustrating. With just nipple covers, my breast shape didn't look as nice, so gradually I felt I should have breast augmentation to improve it.

No massage needed after surgery, and I love Mesmo's soft, springy feel

At first I'd seen cases online with uneven breasts or a "bowl-shaped" look, but after hearing from people around me, I realized that if you take good care of yourself and choose the right doctor, you don't need to worry so much about these problems. At the consultation, my request was that I wanted an implant that doesn't need massage, so the consultant had me blind-test some textured implants. My husband and I both felt that Mesmo felt really good. It's soft and springy, with more bounce than other materials, neither too soft nor too firm, just right. I even put it in my bra to test it, and it felt very close to a real breast.

Dr. Po-Ying Lee answered everything carefully, and the surgery didn't affect my exercise routine

Dr. Po-Ying Lee is a very conscientious and meticulous doctor. Breast augmentation is a major surgery, so of course I had lots of questions and worries, and he gave me professional perspectives and compared the pros and cons. For example, because I exercise, I cared about where the implant would be placed, and I was torn between fully under the fascia or dual-plane (partly under the fascia, partly under the muscle). The doctor analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of each and told me which placement suited me. In the end I chose dual-plane. Although it involves cutting a little of the pectoral muscle, it doesn't really affect exercise. For the incision I chose the inframammary fold, which is closer to where the implant goes, and I also worried an armpit incision might mean a longer recovery.

Back at work in 5 days, with all kinds of support from NAISS CLINIC

The pain started on day one after surgery and lasted about four days, and on day five I went back to work as normal. During recovery I had regular follow-ups, and the clinic provided recovery IV drips to help reduce inflammation and heal the incision. Once the incision was more stable, after about six months, they offered picosecond laser to help fade the scar. During this time the clinic also taught me how to care for my breasts, like some massage techniques, to speed up recovery. For the first month I couldn't really sleep on my side or turn over, but after that it didn't affect my daily life. The result with Mesmo is about what I'd felt in the sample, or even better. They're still softening, but I can feel they're springy, they look really full, and it completely fixed my pigeon chest and the hollow between my breasts.

Better than expected! And my waist looks slimmer too

I'm three months post-op, and my satisfaction is 10 out of 10! The whole result is better than I expected, and overall I think it was well worth it. I've openly shared it with people around me; they all say it looks great, and some ask me about the details of the surgery, and I'm happy to talk about it. Since the surgery I've become more confident, and I no longer worry about my breast shape in pretty dresses. And going from a C to an F cup, I found that my waist looks slimmer too!

If you're thinking about breast augmentation, I'd suggest understanding your own needs and the feel and material you like. And I recommend having surgery in winter, because the cold really helps with swelling, hahaha, and wearing the compression band or garment is more comfortable~
