You have heard of monopolar radiofrequency (RF) and bipolar RF, but have you heard of multipolar RF? How do the three differ? EndyMed has exclusive patented technology that addresses the burn risk of monopolar RF, and it can even be performed without numbing cream!? This article explains what EndyMed is, how it works and what its advantages are, who it suits, and more, and finishes by comparing it with other common RF treatments, all in one place!

What Is EndyMed?

What Is EndyMed?

EndyMed® is a device launched by the Israeli company Endymed and holds approvals in many countries, including US FDA, EU CE, and Taiwan TFDA. Unlike other RF (monopolar/bipolar), EndyMed is a multipolar RF with exclusive patented 3DEEP™ technology, which heats progressively and evenly to 52-55°C, promoting collagen growth and remodeling, with the advantages of a comfortable treatment, no numbing cream needed, short downtime, and suitability for the whole body

What Are Monopolar, Bipolar, and Multipolar RF? Is Multipolar RF Good?

  • Monopolar RF: non-invasive 3D heating that can reach 65-72°C. Common brands: Thermage FLX, Oligio
  • Bipolar RF: minimally invasive microneedle heating, better for scar repair. Common brands: Morpheus8, Genius RF
  • Multipolar RF: offers both non-invasive and minimally invasive options, using multiple electrodes that pass current among each other. Common brand: EndyMed

Multipolar RF heats to a lower temperature, so its results and their duration are not as good as monopolar RF. But multipolar RF has the advantages of low pain and an affordable price, and it lowers the risk of burns and blisters, making it better suited to budget-conscious people for routine maintenance

FAQ

How long is the downtime after EndyMed? Can I wear makeup and go out as normal?

EndyMed is a non-invasive treatment that leaves no wounds, and only a small number of people have temporary mild redness and swelling, which usually subsides within 24 hours after treatment. You can apply makeup right after treatment, there is no downtime, and you only need to step up sun protection and hydration

How long do EndyMed results last? How often do I need treatment?

On average, EndyMed results last more than 1 year, varying with your constitution, daily routine, and eating habits. After treatment we recommend stepping up hydration and sun protection and taking vitamin C or collagen-related foods at the right times, which can boost new collagen formation. To stay at your best, we recommend treatment once every 6-12 months

How soon will I see EndyMed results?

You will see an immediate firming effect right after the treatment, and the effect becomes more noticeable 1-2 weeks after treatment, and as collagen increases, it reaches its best state after 3 months

Does EndyMed hurt? Is anesthesia needed?

EndyMed is a multipolar RF. Its patented 3DEEP™ technology heats skin tissue evenly and progressively, using multi-level heating with smart temperature control that keeps the epidermis at 40-42°C and the dermis at 52-55°C. Because the temperature at the epidermis is lower, combined with the moving technique, it feels more comfortable. No numbing cream is needed for EndyMed treatment, and sedation anesthesia is also not recommended during the procedure. With real-time heat feedback, the physician can assess and adjust the energy intensity right away, and the EndyMed probe has a safety mechanism that stops working immediately when it leaves the skin, preventing heat injury, so it is very safe

Is one session enough?

A single session will bring improvement, but we recommend completing an average of 6-10 sessions for the body (1-2 weeks apart) and 1-3 sessions for the face (3-4 weeks apart).
