I had local anesthesia, so I could still sense the procedure and my surroundings. Lying on the operating table waiting, I was actually pretty nervous, but Dr. Chiu is so nice; he kept chatting with me to distract me. He's very funny, asking about my childhood and other things I had to think back on, so while I was working out my answers I was distracted and didn't notice where the surgery was up to. Gradually I wasn't nervous at all, and the whole surgery was over in about 20 minutes~ Dr. Chiu is really professional!

The surgery went smoothly; the only discomfort was the anesthetic injections, three spots on each eyelid, which made my eyes want to water, but it was bearable. After surgery my eyes were quite swollen for the first two days. I drank herbal recovery tonic and kept up cold compresses, and around day three the swelling started to go down, so I could go out and do things as usual. After a week I felt mostly recovered.
